Tea: A Simple Solution to Modern Life’s Modern Ills

Tea

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant;
if we did not sometimes taste adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.”
– Anne Bradstreet.

The past few decades have shown how the health of the working professionals has continually been deteriorating because of a fast lifestyle. For temporary relief or pleasure, they cling to coffee, beer, alcohol, cigarettes, meat, and fast food. All this works fine in the life cycle of human being, as long as it doesn’t go overboard. Now, the problem arises when you cling only to the pillars mentioned above of the fast, modern lifestyle. These habits are the primary reasons for lifestyle discomforts, such as stress, hypertension, heart disease, insomnia, addictions, and obesity. The wrong chords of working professionals ring when they massively indulge in work, bad lifestyle habits, and escapes using temporary means. If you are in these circumstances, your equation needs a hand. The answer is tea.

The first look

If we give the tea a significant throwback, you will be bewildered how royal it was. It brought about a sense of royalty and luxury to people. Before the 1700s, this beverage was precious. It was considered such a great luxury item that it had to be smuggled between countries and parties in various parts of the world. Even colonized countries faced a significant amount of pain in tea plantations as the countrymen and women were enslaved to work.

And look at us today boasting about pizza and other junk. When you look at this drink with the prism of benefits, it is no longer just a high commodity. You won’t be wrong if you call it the elixir of life, as it proffers you immense health benefits. Tea throws a rescue rope even before you fall into the well.

More about tea

TeaThis beverage will be your great friend, if not, a spiritual friend when you scream through the roller coaster of life. Every tea type has benefits that can totally help you avoid lifestyle discomforts and soothe you during your moments of stress, dismay, and confusion. Tea has these extraordinary benefits because it is pumped with antioxidants, flavonoids, polyphenols. These components help you maintain your health and keep yourself mentally alert.

Bearing in mind all the benefits this beverage gives you, and the royalty it carries, one should directly storm to the doors of Ono Teas. With different product categories, Ono Teas provides you moments of relief and pleasure amidst your whirlpool of a hectic life and other lifestyle disorders. As a working professional, office, and pollution might prove to be your greatest enemies. And taming your enemies has never been easier.

Tea works wonders, one sip at a time

TeaNow let’s get into the macro and micro of factors affecting your stress. Let’s understand how tea can be the pedestal of relief for you.

Herbal teas are full of medicinal properties. They help soothe your digestive system and hydrate your skin while the antioxidants repair you from within. The world acclaims green teas for their therapeutic benefits. They are least processed and have polyphenol and catechin in high amounts. When you are baked in your work life, and office-related stress, a cup of green tea or chamomile tea can soothe you magically. They work like a magical potion.

On the health side, if you want to shed some weight, and soothe your bones internally, you can always have the turmeric herbal tea. It not only arouses you into the taste and moment of it but also can be your friend for better health too.

Ginger and Tulsi, as we know it, have always been our important herb for immunity and antibacterial properties. You can now enjoy our Tulsi Sweet Lemon and Tulsi Lemongrass, and prevent yourself from significant inflammatory and infectious diseases. Ginger tea also helps to calm nausea, and it soothes any individual quickly.

Tea gives you a moment to yourself, the right way

TeaBe it a lifestyle, friendship, solitude, conversations, or luxury; tea will provide you with the right steer to get past your work stress. For today’s working professionals, it is quite hard to find a moment to themselves. They constantly struggle to share time with their loved ones. And when they do, it is often unhealthy. Beer, pizza, and coffee have become the new fast, but it can never be royal. The question is not how high your life is instead how royal you treat yourself.

You can celebrate moments with your loved ones by sharing a cup of Hojicha tea after work. Or you can find peaceful sleep after long hours of office stress by enjoying gentle sips of Pure Chamomile tea.

If you want to add a punch of taste and aroma to your lifestyle, then take a moment to appreciate the Tulsi Lemongrass tea. Our Classic Green tea is remarkable in helping one to avoid fast-food-lifestyle consequences. It has compounds that aid in preventing oral bacteria. It is also a great shield against cholesterol.

You can also enjoy the company of other members in the family of tea. These include Chinese teaDarjeeling tea, Assam tea, Nilgiri tea, and Black tea. All of these types promise you a significant shift in life. They help you fight health problems and provide inner contentment.

To summarise

It is in the face of the young working generation to cope up with extreme lifestyle discomforts, such as stress, insomnia, anxiety, and depressions. But you have a choice. You can sit in your yoga pants by listening to heavenly binaural beats and streak through the day smoothly by getting your work done. Or you can walk to and fro across the corridor of your office by smoking a cigarette having a stressful discussion with your inner self.

In a world where fast food is glorified, let’s embrace what nature gives us. We enable you to battle all discomforts and concerns emanating from the modern lifestyle. With the daily hustle and work life and a backyard full of different moods and moments, what could be better than cherishing life’s presents with a cup of tea on the table? Live life tea size!

Drinking Tea – Is It Only A Fashionable Affair of The Past?

Drinking tea

Tea isn’t just a steaming, hot beverage. Instead, it is a source of joy – one that can be enjoyed with family, friends and even by one’s own self. It is a beverage to flaunt with. For me, tea is sensational and romantic. I enjoy it most while sitting with my hubby, browsing the television or laying back cracking jokes, sharing laughter or just reading a book. Drinking tea brings so much pleasure, and it’s one of the simplest ways to shut off the day’s stresses. So, how would you prefer your cup of tea? Would you care to share?

As a kid, I remember that tea time gatherings used to be a lot more fun. They used to involve beautiful porcelain tea sets that were the untouchables otherwise, but a must at the family get-together. It used to be a mega food affair with loads of bakery items taking their turn at the table. Tea becomes even more delicious when there are snacks to go along. Tea cakes to bite-size sandwiches, pastries to lemon tarts, cupcakes to mincemeat pies; ah such mouth-watering delights to savour upon. Hmm! Can still feel my mouth drooling with the perception of them.

Childhood recollections are so beautiful! Memories are endless, and it just takes moments for our mind to fill up with them. Tea times used to be so much more fashionable then what they are today. I wonder why tea times lost their charm. According to me, neither tea lovers have reduced in count nor has coffee taken over the love of tea.

I guess people have lost the will to interact and share. Nowadays, everyone seems to be so busy that we have forgotten the urge to sit and relax. Or to take out a little while for ourselves. Holding a cup of tea, lounging on the terrace and gazing at the beautiful sky. This is another reason why people seem to suffer from depression and stress-related issues. Because we are not able to keep up with day-to-day problems. Having only our laptop, iPad or cell phone to interact with have left us good for nothing. So, get out there, grab a cup or two and zing up some tea. Invite friends or family over and sit, laugh and be happy. Be human!!

Tea parties used to bring together fashion, clothing purses, books, pretty tea sets, table covers, and many such things. Tea parties were also known as high teas that used to be a delightful time for the ladies to get together and gossip. And I’m sure those were a superb source of relaxation. It is a proven truth from science that people who interact more with their friends or family are healthier and stay at bay from the harmful effects of stress and tension. Nowadays, people are becoming more and more secluded. Although the trend for dining out has increased a lot, drinking tea and the tea fiasco has lost its charm.

The beautifully handcrafted crochet table covers have almost gone extinct and these days dining tables barely have covers on them. Then another blow to the lovely tea times came with the introduction of big mugs that replaced the beautiful tea sets and the associated cutlery and many other delicacies. However, all these changes remained unable to impress my mom. In this day and age of tea mugs, my mother still craves for her cup and saucer. Another blow to the tea fab was the entry of tea bags which also led to do away with loose leaf tea and in came the more comfortable-to-handle tea bags.

I appreciate Ono Teas’ initiative to revive the tea culture amongst the youth. To them drinking tea is as important as drinking the right kind of tea. They not just offer a range of premium teas but also educate and inform their patrons about the salient features and benefits of different teas. I particularly like the way they categories their teas suiting the mood of the drinker. For instance, their ‘lifestyle’ category focuses on teas that boost the drinker’s health. They offer teas for proactive care, lifestyle disorders, and preventive care.

Their ‘conversations’ category is a brilliant bouquet of fine teas that stimulate interactions and engagements among people. Their ‘solitude’ line-up is a great way for one to relax and reflect upon their life’s moments.

I remember throwing a tea party one evening for my dear friends, some weeks back. I brought upon this party as the occasion to let my friends taste Ono Teas’ Peppermint tea and Kashmiri Kahwa. Not only did we regale in these flavours but also experienced a softly-enhanced excitement in our conversations and spirits!

Today life is fast-paced than ever. To me, it is much more important now, to stop by and relax. Grab a cup of tea and a book and sit and enjoy it downing each sip. Tea is fashionable, and it should stay so. Tea shops and cafes should be brought to life where people should sit together and speak their hearts out.

Drinking tea is not just therapeutic for our souls, but it is a celebration of everything in our life. When it comes to parties, people usually uncork their elegant wines. I dare to suggest tea. I think, drinking tea is not just a way of life. It brings out the best in us. Getting together and laughing together holding the beautiful teacups and enjoying each other are the most amazing things of all; which should be lived and relived every time.

Perfect Tea for The Perfect Moment. Embrace It.

Perfect

Perhaps, “perfect” is a word that one would often associate with a well-made “coffee.” That’s because people typically consider the experience of sipping delicious coffee, laying back on their chairs and binge-watching terrible series and movies as almost heavenly. But let’s do a little polyamory of beverages here.

Why tea?

When we look back into history, people were enslaved and tortured to work in tea plantations. So much for tea! It was considered precious. It added a great sense of melancholy and royalty to the lifestyle of people who had the power and luxury to enjoy tea. Steering from there, straight to the modern day, we have rare types of tea, such as Da Hong Pao (not difficult to pronounce) or the Shui Hsien tea that may cost more than three years of your grocery bill. But why would someone stretch to such great extents for tea? In a world where alcohol and coffee are hyped immensely, let’s give this drink a chance to prove itself as the magic potion we all forget.

One tea, many benefits

If we look at tea, it is fantastic! Those underestimated tiny tea leaves give us tranquillity as fast as we go from zero to 90% stress levels. On our daily run for life, we consume tea like cocaine addicts without really paying attention to its royalty and sensitivity. If we are mindful, we will find tea to be no less than the elixir of life. It gives us health benefits, freedom from stress, magical solitude, and a perfect reason to create perfect moments. A cup of tea shared is a thousand smiles exchanged. No exaggeration. Just pure tea-truth.

When we find ourselves encompassed by a range of preventive health disorders, we often confuse preventive remedies with medicines and then run to the doctor for some healing. Of course, nothing can replace medications a doctor prescribes, and rightfully, we shouldn’t. But why let the sword hang above our head when we can master it? Ono Teas draws that path!

Tea, when consumed mindfully can align us with the greatest of moods and the best of health. It helps us prevent avoidable lifestyle discomforts, such as insomnia, fatty liver, menstruation issues, extreme stress, and many more. Scientists have proved that tea is full of antioxidants, and provides numerous health benefits, such as diminishing the risk of heart attack or stroke, lowering blood pressure, and the list is long!

Tea power

With a long list, comes different types of teas. When we are on the hustle to conquer the world, we often ignore the power of tea and its different types. For every mood, for every sip, for every cup, there is a type of tea, waiting! The usual suspects comprise Darjeeling tea, oolong tea, Nilgiri tea, green tea, black tea, white tea and chamomile tea. All of these have their own taste, benefits and moods they bring in with them. We won’t feel any less than a tribal shaman and a royal artist upon making these teas for ourselves. They radiate an immense amount of fresh aroma, taste, and rejuvenation to put our crankiness to rest. Let’s plunge into the world of teas and see what it promises to us, and what we shouldn’t be missing out!

Heal your way with teas

If you take our word for it, relax and sit back. Take some time off for the blissful solitude over a cup of tea. Experience the gourmet teas and heal yourself, as every type of tea has remarkable healing properties.

Herbal teas

If spoken in medical terms, herbal teas are packed with immense medicinal values. These teas help slaying cholesterol, soothing your digestive system and leave you with healthy skin and gut. The antioxidants within the tea keep you hydrated. Green tea is the least processed one among the teas, natural and the only type that contains polyphenols and catechins. So, grab a cup of green tea if you want to lose some weight, improve oral health, increase brain function, gift yourself strong bones, and lower the risk of cancer.

Tulsi tea

This variety helps keep the immune system strong after injuries or illnesses, all thanks to its antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. Ginger teas can help calm nausea, and the aroma can make one feel better.

Convey your gratitude to the plant species of “Camellia sinensis.” All the categories are made from the same plant whether it’s black, green or white. Tea’s unique characteristics are the result of the human selection, soil composition, and local weather patterns and its processing method. Simply put, the more oxidized the tea is, the darker the infusion will be. Ono Teas offers you a platter of tea types to relish and stay healthy. Talk about being spoilt for choice!

Hop on to another ride, with teas

Now, let’s step down a bit and take the trip of the different moods with different teas and what they could mean to you. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that drinking tea is an experience. In a world full of experiences created over electronic products, we must hold everything dear to us that is natural and made for our human system.

Now, coming back to the experience of roller coaster again, tea could take you on an elegant ride. This ride brings you a variety of tea types, which scientists believe, could be your significant other for the purity of health. There are different types of teas in texture and sizes of which the two leading families are the full leaf tea and loose leaf tea.

Colours of tea

The tea’s production and packaging also significantly affect it. When one produces tea with ultimate care, fanned with love, its texture, and flavour ascends. For every tea, there is a type. And for every tea type, there is a variety of mood benefits. Consider the varieties that Ono Teas offers – Pure Chamomile, Chamomile Lemongrass, Tulsi Lemongrass, Turmeric Herbal tea, Gun Powder, Hojicha, Tulsi Sweet Lemon, Classic Green tea, Earl Grey, English Breakfast tea. As we look into the names of these tea types, it only brings us one thought; we missed these! Traditionally, tea is promoted as just under the umbrella name which is, tea! It’s time we justify the beauty of it.

Just like life has different shades, tea has its own colours to fill our life. Be it your lifestyle, your solitary moments, your artsy fantasies, or shared moments with people; tea can play a helpful role in all.

Tea varieties

Adding a pinch of charisma to your lifestyle, you have the Ono Teas’ Pure Chamomile tea. Under the branches of the “tea” are also Whiskey Tea and Peppermint Tea, steering us into perfect magical moments of conversations amidst our daily rush. Tea gives us excellent reasons to share our emotions with our friend or family. When talking about dialogue, historically, tea played a significant role when people met. Unlike today’s beer and coffee culture, people held tea high in every conversation. So, exploring and tasting different types of tea that comes with Ono Teas is not just significant, it is historical!

Elixir of life

You must be wondering why tea connoisseurs refer to tea as the elixir of moments. It is because it not only gives you beautiful shared moments but also invites memorable solitary moments too. Yes! Do you recall the last time you had a moment to yourself? Amidst electronic devices and television that feeds you dumb things, it is now possible for you to have a moment to yourself royally and spiritually!

For instance, Darjeeling Second Flush is the perfect tea for your perfect me-time. Be it watching a good movie, immersing in a book, or just staring straight to the horizon from your window, such teas elevates moments with yourself.

Apart from creating and immersing yourself in the magic of tea, this beverage also plays a massive role in expressing your love towards someone. Not just philosophically, even, in reality, you can translate your love for your dear ones into the tea which you make for them, promising them wonderful taste, and excellent health!

So, what do we learn, finally?

Royalty is your cup of tea. Luxury is also your cup of tea. Health is without a doubt, your cup of tea. Everything good that you would always want, comes with this beverage. Thus, it is not a surprise that you aren’t aware of the perfect drink for the perfect moment. The awareness and affection towards tea is a sip-second easier than the time it takes to put your kettles on.

The wide range of Ono Teas is the perfect reason why everyone in life must embrace this beverage. You can witness the journey of different teas right here. As long as we have different shades to humanity, as long as we have different moods to different moments, Ono Teas will always play a magical role in it.

Stress-free Innings in Life: Yes, It’s Possible. Know How

Stress-free innings in life

Stress comes as part and parcel of life. It comes with different faces, and for everybody, the face results in a different consequence. It is beyond any doubt that stress is bound to come even after your retirement. Humans are wired to be stressed. Physically. Mentally. If you shine a bright ray of light on it, stress takes us miles. Yes, there are severe effects of enduring too much stress. But if you channelize it for your own benefit, you will see the massive difference it brings to your life.

One must always look forward to leading a life where you focus more on relaxing, exploring, and experiencing. As the age of misinformation kicks everyone to follow the herd, people tend to see shade in the wrong things. Alcohol, drugs, and partying are unfortunately the popular approaches of de-stressing. Ono Teas aims to change the thought. Let’s define a new stress-free inning in life with tea.

Yoga, meditation and herbal tea

It is paramount to define your methods to deal with stress so that you have the breathing space for your future life.

Yoga can uplift one physically, mentally and spiritually. Yoga was spiritually rich back in the days. It focused on both metaphysical and physical. Now the tables have spun a bit. Nowadays, the practitioners may be more inclined towards practising it to relax and live stress-free moments. Amalgamating the old and the new, yoga and meditation ceremonies have started seeing a new trend. Sipping herbal tea. And to make this practice more fruitful than ever, Ono Teas has come up with resplendent herbal teas, such as Peppermint tea, Skin Glow Herbal tea, Hibiscus tea, and Green tea.

Hibiscus tea

Drink with style the ‘all red’ herbal tisane with handpicked hibiscus petals processed in small batches for great citrus treat. Stressed or Have Sleep Disorders? Drink Chamomile Tea

Have you ever been through days where you are desperately on a lookout to get yourself some sleep? Yes, I’ve been through them. And you know what? There is something about stress that gets to me; when I’m exhausted my body seems to forget how to fall asleep. However, much I want to go to sleep and pinch my eyes shut or cuddle up in the softness of my pillow; all go in vain. So, I made a promise to myself that I will search for an alternative to my dreaded sleepless nights. Thus, I began my voyage to de-stress and relax. Consequently, I had to find myself a relaxant, but I was reluctant to use any of those conventional medicines that one sees in a doctor’s clinic. Halt, I’m a person for the alternative medicine, always on a lookout for a body-friendly way to recover myself without being harmed. Therefore, a lot of research, web-based reading and friend talk led me to the beautiful chamomile tea.

What is chamomile tea?

Chamomile for stress and sleep disordersChamomile tea gets its name from the Roman Chamomile plant or mother’s daisy, mostly found in Europe, North America and Argentina. India has witnessed the cultivation of this plant in the city of Lucknow for about 200 years. This plant made a foray in Punjab about 300 years ago during the Mughal period. These dried chamomile flowers are loaded with antioxidants and are well known for their sleep aiding properties. The chamomile plant is safe for consumption and has been used in many cultures across the world as a mild sedative and to treat stomach ailments. People commonly use its flowers in teas. Moreover, the Anglo-Saxons believe this herb to be 1 of 9 sacred herbs given to humans by the lord.

Chamomile tea and me

Chamomile teaChamomile not only aids digestion but can also be used to control nausea. That is why, I recommend keeping this tea at home. And that’s what I do. There is no need to take medicine. Instead, I treat these simple conditions of bloating and vomiting with my favorite Pure Chamomile Tea, whereas I keep Chamomile Mint or Sweet Dreams Tea for my family as they don’t like the floral fragrance of the chamomile flower. But for me, the sweet flowery hint of aroma brought about by Ono Tea’s Pure Chamomile Tea serves as the best relaxant when the darkness of night falls.

My day usually ends with the dinner dishes and that is the time when I love to grab a cup of tea, for my hubby and myself; resting on our favorite recliners. Sipping down on our ideal blend and talking about our day’s ups and downs, is so relaxing. It seems to remove all the knots that have formed throughout my muscles. The warm cup of water and the sweet scent of chamomile brings out a magical effect that results in loosening the tension. The tea sets the note for serene tranquility, leading to a beautiful and relaxing sleep mode. Research seconds this fact too. In fact, a study published in PubMed Central, National Centre for Biotechnology Information (PMC, NCBI) states that chamomile is commonly used in the form of an aqueous extract to reduce anxiety, treat hysteria, nightmares, insomnia and other sleep problems.

The delicious chamomile tea latte

Try this personal favorite – hot but soothing chamomile tea latte. At night, when it’s quiet and dark, that’s the perfect time to heat some milk and enjoy this fantastic drink. I prefer to brew the chamomile tea right in the milk and then add dried lavender buds that release their fragrance as the tea steeps. Lavender enables relaxation naturally, especially at bedtime. We all know that warm milk acts as a sleep inducer and chamomile takes it a step further.

A sip of this dreamy latte will help you forget all your troubles of the day, if only for a few moments. I’ve grown a sort of addiction for this bedtime drink. All it needs is a dollop of honey for sweetness, which goes very nicely with it.

Cooking time: 5 minutes
Yield: 2 cups

Ingredients

  • Milk: 2 cups (regular or non-dairy)
  • Dried chamomile buds: 2 to 3 tsp heaped
  • Raw honey or maple syrup: 1 to 2 Tsp
  • Pure Vanilla extract: ¼ Tsp (if desired)

Preparations:

  1. Heat the milk until it is hot. Ensure it is not boiling.
  2. Add chamomile tea to the hot milk and allow the drink to steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. With the help of our faithful strainer, strain the beautiful liquid into your favorite cup.
  4. Finally, refresh with raw honey or Maple syrup and add vanilla extract, if desired.

There you go!! Your chamomile tea latte is ready to drink. And, remember we can always play around with flavours as per our likeness. It may be a hint of cinnamon or a dash of lavender; trying to reveal untold stories. To further glamourise my tea, I love to froth the hot milk with the help of a frother and voilà! The outcome is just beautiful.

Benefits associated with chamomile tea

Chamomile teaAlthough I’m a black tea lover, chamomile tea is the way to go when I’m overworked and in a mood for a spa. It has the most soothing effects on my already weary nerves. Chamomile tea helps in falling fast asleep and waking up all refreshed the next morning. Additionally, it relieves the body and mind from the daily anxiety that we suffer living in a busy urban environment.

To sum up, chamomile tea is not an actual tea. Instead, it is an herbal form. It tastes more like a crisp apple and has a very light and airy feel to it. To enjoy the best flavour and aroma, one must brew the dried chamomile flowers for not more than 3 to 4 minutes especially when consuming only with water, without milk or honey. Hot or cold, with lemon, cinnamon, honey or lavender; as a latte with frothed milk or just with water, chamomile tea has immense benefits. And in the present-day sleep-deprived lives, who doesn’t need a beautiful, light, airy cup of tea to go down those sweet dream lanes that they always used to visit?
