Tea: A Simple Solution to Modern Life’s Modern Ills

Tea

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant;
if we did not sometimes taste adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.”
– Anne Bradstreet.

The past few decades have shown how the health of the working professionals has continually been deteriorating because of a fast lifestyle. For temporary relief or pleasure, they cling to coffee, beer, alcohol, cigarettes, meat, and fast food. All this works fine in the life cycle of human being, as long as it doesn’t go overboard. Now, the problem arises when you cling only to the pillars mentioned above of the fast, modern lifestyle. These habits are the primary reasons for lifestyle discomforts, such as stress, hypertension, heart disease, insomnia, addictions, and obesity. The wrong chords of working professionals ring when they massively indulge in work, bad lifestyle habits, and escapes using temporary means. If you are in these circumstances, your equation needs a hand. The answer is tea.

The first look

If we give the tea a significant throwback, you will be bewildered how royal it was. It brought about a sense of royalty and luxury to people. Before the 1700s, this beverage was precious. It was considered such a great luxury item that it had to be smuggled between countries and parties in various parts of the world. Even colonized countries faced a significant amount of pain in tea plantations as the countrymen and women were enslaved to work.

And look at us today boasting about pizza and other junk. When you look at this drink with the prism of benefits, it is no longer just a high commodity. You won’t be wrong if you call it the elixir of life, as it proffers you immense health benefits. Tea throws a rescue rope even before you fall into the well.

More about tea

TeaThis beverage will be your great friend, if not, a spiritual friend when you scream through the roller coaster of life. Every tea type has benefits that can totally help you avoid lifestyle discomforts and soothe you during your moments of stress, dismay, and confusion. Tea has these extraordinary benefits because it is pumped with antioxidants, flavonoids, polyphenols. These components help you maintain your health and keep yourself mentally alert.

Bearing in mind all the benefits this beverage gives you, and the royalty it carries, one should directly storm to the doors of Ono Teas. With different product categories, Ono Teas provides you moments of relief and pleasure amidst your whirlpool of a hectic life and other lifestyle disorders. As a working professional, office, and pollution might prove to be your greatest enemies. And taming your enemies has never been easier.

Tea works wonders, one sip at a time

TeaNow let’s get into the macro and micro of factors affecting your stress. Let’s understand how tea can be the pedestal of relief for you.

Herbal teas are full of medicinal properties. They help soothe your digestive system and hydrate your skin while the antioxidants repair you from within. The world acclaims green teas for their therapeutic benefits. They are least processed and have polyphenol and catechin in high amounts. When you are baked in your work life, and office-related stress, a cup of green tea or chamomile tea can soothe you magically. They work like a magical potion.

On the health side, if you want to shed some weight, and soothe your bones internally, you can always have the turmeric herbal tea. It not only arouses you into the taste and moment of it but also can be your friend for better health too.

Ginger and Tulsi, as we know it, have always been our important herb for immunity and antibacterial properties. You can now enjoy our Tulsi Sweet Lemon and Tulsi Lemongrass, and prevent yourself from significant inflammatory and infectious diseases. Ginger tea also helps to calm nausea, and it soothes any individual quickly.

Tea gives you a moment to yourself, the right way

TeaBe it a lifestyle, friendship, solitude, conversations, or luxury; tea will provide you with the right steer to get past your work stress. For today’s working professionals, it is quite hard to find a moment to themselves. They constantly struggle to share time with their loved ones. And when they do, it is often unhealthy. Beer, pizza, and coffee have become the new fast, but it can never be royal. The question is not how high your life is instead how royal you treat yourself.

You can celebrate moments with your loved ones by sharing a cup of Hojicha tea after work. Or you can find peaceful sleep after long hours of office stress by enjoying gentle sips of Pure Chamomile tea.

If you want to add a punch of taste and aroma to your lifestyle, then take a moment to appreciate the Tulsi Lemongrass tea. Our Classic Green tea is remarkable in helping one to avoid fast-food-lifestyle consequences. It has compounds that aid in preventing oral bacteria. It is also a great shield against cholesterol.

You can also enjoy the company of other members in the family of tea. These include Chinese teaDarjeeling tea, Assam tea, Nilgiri tea, and Black tea. All of these types promise you a significant shift in life. They help you fight health problems and provide inner contentment.

To summarise

It is in the face of the young working generation to cope up with extreme lifestyle discomforts, such as stress, insomnia, anxiety, and depressions. But you have a choice. You can sit in your yoga pants by listening to heavenly binaural beats and streak through the day smoothly by getting your work done. Or you can walk to and fro across the corridor of your office by smoking a cigarette having a stressful discussion with your inner self.

In a world where fast food is glorified, let’s embrace what nature gives us. We enable you to battle all discomforts and concerns emanating from the modern lifestyle. With the daily hustle and work life and a backyard full of different moods and moments, what could be better than cherishing life’s presents with a cup of tea on the table? Live life tea size!

Want to Win the Battle Against the Effects of Fast Food?

Fast-food effects

When you have a tsunami of food brands that only aims to entice you into shelling loads of money buying fast food, you don’t have much of a fight. Fast food does taste awesome! Plus, in a world where you have to streak through the day with loads of work and an enormous amount of stress, finding relief and pleasure in fast foods is not uncommon. But take a moment and GET REAL. Apart from blessing you with ungodly amounts of harmful chemicals and junk, fast food could play a sinister role in killing you with bad cholesterol and saturated fat. It has incredible abilities to turn your stomach into a junkyard.

We have these weapons of mass destruction on every street corner, and they’re called donuts, cheeseburgers, French fries, potato chips, junk food. Our kids are living on a junk food diet.
– Joel Fuhrman

On the pretext of seeking instant gratification in the present, you risk your future. You may be aware of this fact. But you behave as if engulfed in a prison of pleasure. Think again! It’s time to keep your fast-food pangs under control. It’s time to bid farewell to your fast-food addiction and the resulting wave of risks it brings to your health. And, tea can help you in a big way. Know how.

Tip 1: Detox your system. With tea.

Fast-food effectsIt is imperative to detox your system regularly. You have raced and danced in the world of fast-food dirt tracks, and you expect the body to clean all of it by itself? You need to give your body a hand.

Detox tea could be the answer to your woes. Celebrities from all domains swear by the benefits of detox tea, making it look like the new super food! Hold your horses! Don’t succumb to the marketing gimmicks. Detox teas work best when accompanied with a balanced diet and regular exercise. Yes, eat right, you must! Exercise regularly, you must! Wondering what these teas are? Detox teas are simply herbal teas, also called tisanes. Ono Teas offers a range of such teas, including Peppermint tea, Skin Glow Herbal tea and Hibiscus tea.

Peppermint tea

This tea is a beautiful combination of spearmint, peppermint and regular mint, offering you an ideal herbal minty experience. This tea cleanses your body, improves long-term memory, promotes oral health, boosts energy and reduces allergy.

Skin Glow Herbal tea

This tea is a herbal tisane that has been carefully crafted to keep the body in perfect balance. With a combination of the medicinal properties of turmeric, ginger root and lemongrass, this caffeine-free tea is great for slimming down, and healthy skin and hair.

Hibiscus tea

We process this ‘all red’ herbal tisane with handpicked Hibiscus petals in small batches to offer you a delicious citrus treat. This exotic, soothing caffeine-free herbal tea is recommended for detox in addition to decreasing blood pressure, reducing cholesterol and lowering the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

The above teas are excellent in flushing out toxins and bad cholesterol from your system. Regular consumption of these teas will offer you the elixir of rejuvenation.

Tip 2: Invest in nutrition.

Fast-food effectsIt is the first step to beat any further damage to your health caused by junk food. It is paramount that you need to stop excess intake of alcohol, coffee, smoking, meat, and fast food addictions in the next few hours. It’s necessary! Let this piece of news be your truth of the day.

You must start scheduling what you eat, why you eat and how much you eat. Introduce a whole food, nutritious diet to your lifestyle instead of pumping your body with foods that it doesn’t need. Do not dwell in YOLO. As you quit your addictions and slowly move towards the right kind of foods, you will experience the radical change – longevity and delayed aging. Remember, you are what you eat!

Tip 3: Sip tea. Simple!

Bring a change

Fast-food effectsLet’s be honest here. You cannot always maintain a schedule of ginger juices and green veggies to stay healthy. Sometimes you need a break from the not-so-boring-yet-boring diet food hassle. There’s where tea steps. Tea can serve as an excellent stimulant to help you stick to the lifestyle practices mentioned above. Moreover, tea is incredibly healthy, tasty and refreshing. You could begin your day with Turmeric Herbal tea. Turmeric is not only a great anti-inflammatory agent, but it also repairs your system within by providing antioxidants to your body.

Familiar with the over sensationalized protein, right? Protein fills your system with a lot of nutrients, making you feel full. Did you know that a fantastic green tea protein shake not only gives you protein but also kills cholesterol and saturated fats? You can blend tea with your protein shakes, thus supplying your system with ultra-rich bioactive compounds to build strength and cleanse your body at the same time. Moreover, you need a robust system to digest your protein intakes efficiently. So, tea and your protein foods work hand in hand.

De-stress with tea

Fast-food effectsThe effects of fast foods also steer their way towards impairing health when you don’t give yourself the breathing space or moments of solitude that your mind and body always need. Worry not, you have Hojicha or Tulsi Lemongrass tea to your aid. These teas not only have excellent compounds to help you repair and restore your health but also prove to be your best me-time drink.

Answering the concern of addressing daily stress – you can drink tea to bust your stress. When you meddle all your day in stressful work, your mind will run towards the hallways of junk food. To shoot two cans with one bullet, start having herbal tea. Teas, such as Pure Chamomile tea, Chamomile Lemongrass tea, Oolong tea, Darjeeling tea, Hojicha tea, and Earl Grey tea are the ultimate stress busters. You can manage your stress levels efficiently by avoiding fast-food, introducing a healthy diet, and sipping herbal tea every day.

Teas to calm you

Your sleep patterns are significantly affected by the fast-foods you gobble. Fast foods introduce parasites into your bowels which affect your digestion ultimately catapulting your sleep pattern into a dark abyss. You can blindly trust Pure Chamomile tea to relieve you from stress and give you a good night’s sleep. Chamomile is considered as a mild tranquilizer and aids your sleep greatly. A study published in PubMed Central, part of National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), has hinted that the compound, apigenin in chamomile might be responsible for the sedative effect of the tea.

Fast-food effectsHerbal tea is an excellent de-stressing and health-giving beverage, unlike coffee and beer. It does not only bring a promise of health, but also a sense of contentment in whatever you do. Be it watching a movie, reading a book, or attending a meditation session; tea is an excellent drink to offer you tranquility. Thus, replacing your coffee and beer with tea is a positive step for you to counter fast food effects and also the craving. Turmeric Herbal tea and Tulsi Lemongrass tea are known to rid your body of the toxins slowly. Green tea helps to lose weight, prevent the formation of cancerous cells, restores oral health and helps your body cleanse itself.

To conclude

Your decision to quit and combat the effects of fast food may be hard to come by. But once you decide on it, accept it wholeheartedly with a calm state of mind and with some tea. Your cognitive clarity is linked to how healthy your system is. If you keep treating your tummy as a junkyard, it will be tougher for you to cleanse your body efficiently. Introducing tea into your daily routine acts as a blessing. No hectic workouts, no time-consuming meal plans. Keep a regular schedule of exercise and yoga and enhance its effects with tea. At a time where even your conscious decision tells you to binge on fast food, avoid the impulse. Starve your body of fast food and slowly and steadily make tea a great friend in everything you do.

Stressed or Have Sleep Disorders? Drink Chamomile Tea

Have you ever been through days where you are desperately on a lookout to get yourself some sleep? Yes, I’ve been through them. And you know what? There is something about stress that gets to me; when I’m exhausted my body seems to forget how to fall asleep. However, much I want to go to sleep and pinch my eyes shut or cuddle up in the softness of my pillow; all go in vain. So, I made a promise to myself that I will search for an alternative to my dreaded sleepless nights. Thus, I began my voyage to de-stress and relax. Consequently, I had to find myself a relaxant, but I was reluctant to use any of those conventional medicines that one sees in a doctor’s clinic. Halt, I’m a person for the alternative medicine, always on a lookout for a body-friendly way to recover myself without being harmed. Therefore, a lot of research, web-based reading and friend talk led me to the beautiful chamomile tea.

What is chamomile tea?

Chamomile for stress and sleep disordersChamomile tea gets its name from the Roman Chamomile plant or mother’s daisy, mostly found in Europe, North America and Argentina. India has witnessed the cultivation of this plant in the city of Lucknow for about 200 years. This plant made a foray in Punjab about 300 years ago during the Mughal period. These dried chamomile flowers are loaded with antioxidants and are well known for their sleep aiding properties. The chamomile plant is safe for consumption and has been used in many cultures across the world as a mild sedative and to treat stomach ailments. People commonly use its flowers in teas. Moreover, the Anglo-Saxons believe this herb to be 1 of 9 sacred herbs given to humans by the lord.

Chamomile tea and me

Chamomile teaChamomile not only aids digestion but can also be used to control nausea. That is why, I recommend keeping this tea at home. And that’s what I do. There is no need to take medicine. Instead, I treat these simple conditions of bloating and vomiting with my favorite Pure Chamomile Tea, whereas I keep Chamomile Mint or Sweet Dreams Tea for my family as they don’t like the floral fragrance of the chamomile flower. But for me, the sweet flowery hint of aroma brought about by Ono Tea’s Pure Chamomile Tea serves as the best relaxant when the darkness of night falls.

My day usually ends with the dinner dishes and that is the time when I love to grab a cup of tea, for my hubby and myself; resting on our favorite recliners. Sipping down on our ideal blend and talking about our day’s ups and downs, is so relaxing. It seems to remove all the knots that have formed throughout my muscles. The warm cup of water and the sweet scent of chamomile brings out a magical effect that results in loosening the tension. The tea sets the note for serene tranquility, leading to a beautiful and relaxing sleep mode. Research seconds this fact too. In fact, a study published in PubMed Central, National Centre for Biotechnology Information (PMC, NCBI) states that chamomile is commonly used in the form of an aqueous extract to reduce anxiety, treat hysteria, nightmares, insomnia and other sleep problems.

The delicious chamomile tea latte

Try this personal favorite – hot but soothing chamomile tea latte. At night, when it’s quiet and dark, that’s the perfect time to heat some milk and enjoy this fantastic drink. I prefer to brew the chamomile tea right in the milk and then add dried lavender buds that release their fragrance as the tea steeps. Lavender enables relaxation naturally, especially at bedtime. We all know that warm milk acts as a sleep inducer and chamomile takes it a step further.

A sip of this dreamy latte will help you forget all your troubles of the day, if only for a few moments. I’ve grown a sort of addiction for this bedtime drink. All it needs is a dollop of honey for sweetness, which goes very nicely with it.

Cooking time: 5 minutes
Yield: 2 cups

Ingredients

  • Milk: 2 cups (regular or non-dairy)
  • Dried chamomile buds: 2 to 3 tsp heaped
  • Raw honey or maple syrup: 1 to 2 Tsp
  • Pure Vanilla extract: ¼ Tsp (if desired)

Preparations:

  1. Heat the milk until it is hot. Ensure it is not boiling.
  2. Add chamomile tea to the hot milk and allow the drink to steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. With the help of our faithful strainer, strain the beautiful liquid into your favorite cup.
  4. Finally, refresh with raw honey or Maple syrup and add vanilla extract, if desired.

There you go!! Your chamomile tea latte is ready to drink. And, remember we can always play around with flavours as per our likeness. It may be a hint of cinnamon or a dash of lavender; trying to reveal untold stories. To further glamourise my tea, I love to froth the hot milk with the help of a frother and voilà! The outcome is just beautiful.

Benefits associated with chamomile tea

Chamomile teaAlthough I’m a black tea lover, chamomile tea is the way to go when I’m overworked and in a mood for a spa. It has the most soothing effects on my already weary nerves. Chamomile tea helps in falling fast asleep and waking up all refreshed the next morning. Additionally, it relieves the body and mind from the daily anxiety that we suffer living in a busy urban environment.

To sum up, chamomile tea is not an actual tea. Instead, it is an herbal form. It tastes more like a crisp apple and has a very light and airy feel to it. To enjoy the best flavour and aroma, one must brew the dried chamomile flowers for not more than 3 to 4 minutes especially when consuming only with water, without milk or honey. Hot or cold, with lemon, cinnamon, honey or lavender; as a latte with frothed milk or just with water, chamomile tea has immense benefits. And in the present-day sleep-deprived lives, who doesn’t need a beautiful, light, airy cup of tea to go down those sweet dream lanes that they always used to visit?

Adopt Herbal Tea – A Healthy Alternative to Coffee

Coffee

Is coffee good for you?

In a world where almost, everyone has a mosh pit of coffee and harmful beverages, there is a high possibility of one crossing that danger line. In a sense, every year, people suffer from addiction to caffeine, alcohol, and other stimulants, which does very little good and empirical damage. Especially in this fast-moving age, romanticizing and glorifying coffee addiction also comes with a bunch of physical and mental dependency. You may often find people having a cup of coffee, along with cigarettes that claim to soothe them down. Many of them also have coffee when they have loads of work to complete. In Ono Teas’ prism of the world, this practice is unhealthy. Dependency and lifestyle around coffee and caffeine tell a lot about inefficiency. Before that, let’s discuss the already established ill effects of caffeine on health.

Caffeine has been known to have some beneficial properties to it. Now it is fundamental to realise that over here, problems outweigh benefits. Caffeine is not vicious. But the resulting dependency creates fatigue and robs you of your energy. Additionally, it creates digestive issues, gives rise to insomnia and meddles with your focus levels. Your physical problems are directly linked to your mental stability. The dependency also gives rise to:

  • Anxiety symptoms
  • Bipolar disorder symptoms
  • Mood swings
  • Irritability, and
  • Can also lead to depression if all of this is interlinked.

Caffeine, or coffee, is the only psychoactive drug that everyone accepts with raised arms across the globe. Caffeine is also terrible for pregnant women. The foothills of the mountain of caffeine problems always seem safe, unless one crosses the line.

Drink the better beverage

CoffeeCrossing out the possibility that you are one among the self-actualised individuals on the Maslowian hierarchy, you always need a little something to stimulate yourself physically and mentally. Not using anything to be motivated, relaxed and stress-free is a great solution. But do you know what could be a better alternative? The answer is tea.

This beverage might not seem or sound like the magical ayahuasca of your life, but tea is fantastic! It offers the perennial promise of excellent health and no-better-drink for your leisure time. Tea conquers all areas of dismay, be it health, or your me-times.

Tea was an expensive and luxurious commodity during the colonial age. Even though today’s usual tea is unbelievably cheap, it does not rule out the fact that it is luxurious.

Tea drinking – A new perspective

CoffeeTraditionally, the Indian social circle is known to dumb down tea. The milky chai, undoubtedly tasty, also comes with some repercussions. If you take into consideration the quality of milk used in these teas, it would be clear as to why it is damaging to our health. Even culturally, the milky tea or chai has become the staple beverage. It is not only unhealthy but also super addictive.

A number of academic studies have commented on the risks of milk consumption, but the results are conflicting. Scientists and academicians are still on with research on milk-related allergy and sensitivity. Moreover, people also have a culture of sipping chai from the streets. Not to be narcissistic about it, but the quality of milk and the unhygienic process of making the chai may add to the harm quotient of the drink. A little shift in the daily habit by replacing regular tea with herbal tea might move mountains! Be it Tulsi Lemongrass tea, Pure chamomile tea, or the green tea; it beats coffee and caffeine in every way. It is undoubtedly the healthiest alternative to caffeinated drinks.

A peek into the wonders of tea

CoffeeTea is super powerful in tackling anxiety issues, insomnia, curbing cholesterol, and other lifestyle discomforts as well. Right from the ancient ages, mankind has looked upon tea not like a royal commodity but rather a medicinal herb. The ancient Chinese used tea to heal a lot of diseases, including the chronic ones.

One of the most revered and favoured drinks, when one dines out or has fast food, is the iced tea. Not only is it tasty and aromatic, but is also useful in several ways. One often flavours it with lemon and ginger, which adds up to the beneficial quotient.

If you look around, green tea has become popular these days. The answer to its rise to fame are some of the following health benefits it offers with every cup.

  • Fights off oral bacteria
  • Helps you shed some weight
  • Not only releases but also makes way for some dopamine rush
  • Is an excellent alternative to the usual beverage!

CoffeeIf you are a working professional, a retired war veteran, or a grandmother sewing sweater, tea is an excellent drink to bring you tranquility. It perfectly decorates your mood, be it your me-time or a chat with your family. You can also avail and have different tea types suiting the occasion. Ono Teas offers a range of teas to stimulate your conversations. Try our non-alcoholic Whiskey tea, Kashmiri Kahwa, Peppermint tea, Tulsi Sweet Lemon tea and many more. The pure chamomile tea serves as an excellent de-stressor tea. You can have the Turmeric herbal tea with your breakfast, making it easy to breakdown and digest your food. If you are in a bad mood and feels like the world is about to see another apocalypse, head straight for the Chamomile Lemongrass tea. It is a great de-stressor and also soothes your soul by its natural aroma.

Taking tea, a step further

A teacup is not only known for it’s magic to bring a sense of calmness to the body and the mind but also prevent many lifestyle disorders, such as stress and anxiety. You see, a cup of tea is not the same when you share it with others. The space it gives to create memorable moments and experiences with yourself and loved ones is irreplaceable. As you know it’s the age of combinations; you can also have tea in coffee flavours. For completing your health chart, you can always have the coffee flavoured green tea! Another mostly favoured combination of tea is infusing tea with protein shakes. You can find numerous tea protein shake blends that serve as an excellent drink for workouts and overall health.

Tea is ceremonious too. No, it’s not far-fetched. If you look at many spiritual ceremonies, people consume herbal tea mindfully before and after the spiritual sessions. According to Wikipedia, the Japanese have an elaborate tea ceremony, also called Chanoyu, Sado or Ocha, that encompasses a ceremonial preparation and presentation of a powdered green tea known as matcha. A couple of videos below will give you an essence of the Japanese tea ceremony.

Take a look at a scene from a popular film “Karate Kid 2”, depicting a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

Here’s a story of Sensei Sobin Koizumi hosting a tea ceremony, published by National Geographic. As per this story, she has been involved with tea ceremonies since she was six years old! Incredible, isn’t it?

Many cultures sip tea, the elixir of life, in high self-esteem and have acclaimed its sheer power to bring a sense togetherness with every cup. Tea is devoid of all the adverse health problems that other caffeinated or alcoholic drinks bring in. It helps you throughout your schedule.

Tea is the right choice

CoffeeDifferent tea types support you in different ways. Be it your favorite latte, or the prestigious Irish coffee, the help it does is only topical.

Adopting tea opens up multiple pathways for health and lifestyle. Can you drink tea when you’re anxious? Yes. Can you have a coffee flavoured decaf green tea? Absolutely. Can you sip Pure Chamomile tea for a night of better sleep? Without a doubt! You see, tea can be adopted and blended with any drink that will rank it into a healthy alternative. The time is ripe for it!
