HISTORY & ORIGINS

Turmeric Mulethi Tea
An absolute powerhouse of ingredients, Turmeric Mulethi by Ono Teas is a complete package.  Lemon peel, liquorice root, turmeric, lemongrass, ginger, cardamom, rose petals, black pepper, and green tea leaves as well. Phew! That’s quite a lot of ingredients, huh? Let’s focus on a few of them. Historically speaking, the use of turmeric dates back nearly 4000 years to the Vedic culture in India, where it was used as a culinary spice and had some religious significance. According to Sanskrit medical treatises and Ayurvedic and Unani systems, turmeric has a long history of medicinal use in South Asia. Ginger, on the other hand, originated from Maritime Southeast Asia. The most ancient evidence of its domestication is among the Austronesian peoples where it was among several species of ginger cultivated and exploited since ancient times. Lemongrass grows in parts of tropical and sub-tropical South East Asia and Africa. Its origin is assumed to be Malesian. In India, Lemongrass can be found in the regions of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, hills of Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. All these culturally rich ingredients are used in making Turmeric Mulethi. This flavorful, floral spice-filled tisane by Ono Teas can make you go insane with its brimming health benefits.
