Teas is one of my preferred ways of prescribing botanicals (plant based medicines) for adults and children. As a doctor, I look for very specific blends which are known to heal and rejuvenate us from inside. Ono Teas herbal and Tisane category teas offer a lot of interesting complex flavours without the added sugars and colours found in the packaged juices, sports drinks and soda.

HISTORY & ORIGINS

Classic Green Tea
Did you know that green tea was discovered by mistake? Around 2737 BC in China, the Chinese emperor Shennong was drinking hot boiled water. He found a dead tea leaf mistakenly fell into his cup of water that surprisingly tasted refreshing. Thus the famous Green tea was born. Green tea comes from the plant of Camellia sinensis just like many other teas. What makes it so special then? It is its processing. This tea does not undergo a chemical reaction called oxidation. This pure cup of unoxidized tea is the reason for its light, warm and fresh-bodied aroma and the health benefits that got everyone talking. This fantastic tea is known for its amazing health benefits, but it is important to drink this tea in its loose-leaf form, as bottled tea rips out its nutrients and all the essential reasons for which we drink green tea. We at Ono Teas offer the loose leaf version, in the Classic Green Tea just so you can grab all the essential and required health benefits of it.
