Translating as “Rose of China” in Latin, hibiscus is a beautiful, vigorous, glossy-leafed plant with intensely bright red, double flowers that are found in the tropical and sub-tropical regions.
Widely cultivated as an ornamental plant, it is often seen in Hawaiian women as a symbol of beauty. This flower is also known as the “China Rose”. Traditionally this plant has been used in the form of paste and applied to the hair as a natural shampoo-it helps with healthy improved textured hair, scalp, anti-greying.
Hibiscus has been used as traditional medicine in Siddha and Ayurveda. It has been used to treat a variety of diseases and ailments such as cough cold, hair problems, respiratory disorders, cardio problems, hypertension, and mental pressure.
