HISTORY & ORIGINS

Hojicha Tea
Hoji Cha is a Japanese Green Tea. What makes it different from other Green teas like Matcha or Sencha is its impeccable reddish-brown hue.  The history of Hoji Cha dates back to the 1920s. The first preparation of Hoji Cha happened in the region of Kyoto, Japan. While experimenting with the tea leftovers to manage waste, a tea seller successfully came up with the method of roasting twigs over charcoal. Just like that, Hoji Cha became a popular drink to serve in Japan and all around the world. Ono Teas’ Hoji Cha is hailed for its rich smoky and sweet aroma. Its unique taste allows you to experience the century-old Japanese inspired tradition in slow sips.
