HISTORY & ORIGINS

Lapsang Souchong Tea
Lapsang Souchong is a smoked black tea roasted over a pinewood fire in a bamboo basket called hōnglóng. This tea originates from the Wuji Mountains region of Fujian, China. It is popularly known as Wuji Tea or Bohea there. During the Qing era, Lapsang Souchong came into existence in the Wuyi Mountains, China. This tea was an accidental invention. There was a delay in the annual drying of the teas by the farmers. They sped up the tea drying process by roasting over a local pinewood fire to cope with this. There is an alternate story, which you can read from our detailed blog. Ono Teas’ Lapsang Souchong will be a delectable choice if you want to experiment with your taste palate. The smoky flavour is well pronounced. Our loose leaves batch will make for a strong full-flavoured concoction in your cup. Enjoy this tea to feel what the dutchess experienced centuries ago.

Lovely Aroma The aroma is lovely, and the flavor is very good. The smokiness lingers for a while after you finish it. I withheld the 5th star because this is the first Lapsang Souchong I have tried, and I like it well enough to explore other brands of this type of tea.
